Abstract English

This Study examines one of the modern dictionaries, the New Student's Dictionary, with a focus on its logical definitions. This dictionary, specifically designed for students at various educational levels, highlights the importance of creating dictionaries that cater to their linguistic needs and assist them in acquiring and comprehending Arabic vocabulary. The use of logical definitions in this dictionary is particularly significant as it aids in clarifying meanings and eliminating ambiguity.

This study employs a descriptive analytical approach to identify and analyze instances of logical definitions in the New Student's Dictionary. The aim is to understand how logical definitions are used to clarify meanings. The study coniststs of three parts: the first deals with the real definition, the second investigates terminological definitions, and the third delves into the encyclopedic definition.

الملخص العربي

تتناول هذه الدّراسة واحدًا من المعاجم الحديثة، وهو معجم "القاموس الجديد للطّلّاب" من خلال الاطّلاع في المعجم على التّعريف المنطقيّ، وخاصّة أنّ المعجم هو واحد من المعاجم التّعليميّة الموجّهة لطلّاب المدارس على اختلاف مراحلهم التّعليميّة، وهذا يستدعي صناعة معاجم تلبّي حاجاتهم اللّغويّة، وتساعدهم على اكتساب مفردات اللّغة العربيّة وفهمها فهمًا سليمًا، وهذا يتطلّب استخدام تعريفات قادرة على توضيح المعاني وإزالة الغموض والإبهام عنها، والتّعريف المنطقيّ إحدى الطّرق المستخدمة في معجم "القاموس الجديد للطّلّاب" لتوضيح المعاني.

وتعتمد الدّراسة استخدام المنهج الوصفيّ التّحليليّ، من خلال رصد مواطن التّعريف المنطقيّ في معجم "القاموس الجديد للطّلّاب"، وتحليلها، لمعرفة كيفيّة توظيف التّعريف المنطقيّ في توضيح المعاني، وتتكوّن الدّراسة من ثلاثة مباحث: فأمّا الأوّل، فيتناول التّعريف الحقيقيّ، وأمّا الثّاني، فيبحث في التّعريف المصطلحيّ، وأمّا الثّالث، فيبحث في التّعريف الموسوعيّ.
