Abstract English

This study analyzes two plays: “Pared” (2004) by the spanish author Itziar Pascual and “Stone Maryam” (2020) by the palestinian author Mostafa an-Nabih. Both plays deal with the subject of the oppression of women and the aggression suffered by the protagonists in their private enviroment: the house. In this respect, both authors bring to the public sphere an issue that has always been part of the private sphere: physical and verbal violence, emotional tyranny, economic control, and destructive behavior. Both plays forground the female voice.

الملخص العربي

تحلل الدراسة مسرحيتين وهما: «الحائط» (2004) للكاتبة الإسبانية إيتزيار باسكوال، و«ارجموا مريم» (2020) للكاتب الفلسطيني مصطفى النبيه. تتناول المسرحيتان قضية اضطهاد المرأة والاعتداءات التي تتعرض لها المرأة في محيطها الخاص، المنزل. وبهذا المعنى، ينقل كلا المؤلفين إلى المحيط العام موضوعًا كان يُنظر إليه تقليديًا على أنه ينتمي إلى المحيط الخاص ولا يجب الخوض فيه، وهو العنف الجسدي واللفظي والاستبداد العاطفي والسيطرة الاقتصادية والسلوك المدمرالذي تتعرض له المرأة. وبالتالي فإن كلا العملين يعطيان أهمية وأولوية للصوت الأنثوي.
