Abstract English

This study aims to explore the current state of Kuwaiti youth participation in community development and to identify the requirements necessary for its enhancement. To achieve this objective, a descriptive research methodology was employed, utilizing a survey for data collection. The study sample consists of 986 Kuwaiti youths, selected and distributed according to variables such as gender, governorate, and nature of employment. The findings reveal that the level of Kuwaiti youth participation in community development is moderate, while the obstacles they face are significantly high. Moreover, the study participants expressed strong agreement with the proposed requirements for enhancing youth participation in community development. The results also indicate no statistically significant differences in responses based on gender or governorate. However, statistically significant differences were observed in relation to educational level, favoring those with higher education, and in relation to the nature of employment, favoring those working in government sectors. In light of these findings, the study recommends implementing the identified requirements to enhance Kuwaiti youth participation in community development, by integrating them into certain youth training programs and academic curricula; forming specialized committees to address the obstacles identified by the study that hinder youth participation in community development; and directing efforts towards educating and training families on how to raise their children to engage in collective work and community development.

هدفت الدراسة الكشف عن واقع مشاركة الشباب الكويتي في التنمية المجتمعية ومتطلبات تعزيزه، ولتحقيق هذا الهدف استخدمت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي واعتمدت على الاستبانة في جمع البيانات، وطبقت على عينة بلغت (986) من الشباب بالمجتمع الكويتي موزعين وفق متغيرات (النوع/ المحافظة/ طبيعة العمل) وأشارت النتائج إلى أن واقع مشاركة الشباب الكويتي في التنمية المجتمعية جاء بدرجة متوسطة، وأن المعوقات التي تواجهه جاءت مرتفعة، وأن موافقة أفراد عينة الدراسة على المتطلبات المقترحة لتعزيز واقع مشاركة الشباب الكويتي في التنمية المجتمعية جاءت مرتفعة، كما أشارت النتائج لعدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في استجابات أفراد عينتها تعزى لمتغير النوع أو المحافظة بينما توجد فروق دالة إحصائياً في استجاباتهم تعزى لمتغير المستوى التعليمي لصالح ذوي المستوى التعليمي الأعلى، وكذلك توجد فروق دالة إحصائياً في استجاباتهم تعزى لمتغير طبيعة العمل لصالح العاملين في الأجهزة الحكومية. وفي ضوء نتائج الدراسة توصي الدراسة بما يلي: أهمية تفعيل المتطلبات التي كشفت عنها الدراسة لتعزيز مشاركة الشباب الكويتي في التنمية المجتمعية وذلك بتضمينها في بعض برامج التأهيل وإعداد الشباب وبعض المقررات الدراسية. تشكيل لجان متخصصة لدراسة المعوقات التي كشفت عنها الدراسة والتي تحول دون مشاركة الشباب في التنمية المجتمعية. التوجه نحو الأسرة بتوعيتها وتدريبها على كيفية تنشئة أبنائها على الانخراط في العمل الجماعي وتنمية المجتمع.
