Abstract English

AbstractThe current study aimed at identifying the relationship of school punishment and self-confidence, and also revealing the possibility of the contribution of school punishment in predicting the level of self-confidence among students of the lower basic stage from the point of view of a sample of parents. The study tools included the measure of (school punishment) and the measure of (self-confidence), which were prepared by the researcher.In this study, the researcher used the descriptive approach, and the study sample consisted of (266) fathers and mothers from a sample of parents, who were selected using the available sample method. The results showed a strong inverse relationship between school punishment and self-confidence, and the results also showed the contribution of school punishment with its three dimensions in predicting the self-confidence among the students of the lower basic stage from the point of view of a sample of parents. The researcher recommended the necessity of urging teachers to deal positively with students and to use reinforcement and encouragement styles during the teaching process that would increase the students' self-confidence level.Key words: (school punishment, self-confidence, students of the lower basic stage).

الملخص العربي

الملخصهدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى التعرف إلى نوع العلاقة بين العقاب المدرسي والثقة بالنفس، والکشف أيضا عن امکانية اسهام العقاب المدرسي في التنبؤ بخفض مستوى الثقة بالنفس لدى تلاميذ المرحلة الأساسية الدنيا من وجهة نظر عينة من أولياء الأمور. وتمثلت أداتي الدراسة في مقياس (العقاب المدرسي) ومقياس (الثقة بالنفس) وهما من اعداد الباحث. واستخدم الباحث في هذه الدراسة المنهج الوصفي، وتکونت عينة الدراسة من (266) أبا وأما من عينة من أولياء الأمور وقد تم اختيارهم بطريقة العينة المتاحة. وأظهرت النتائج وجود علاقة عکسية قوية بين العقاب المدرسي والثقة بالنفس، کما وأشارت أيضا النتائج إلى إسهام العقاب المدرسي بأبعاده الثلاثة في التنبؤ بخفض الثقة بالنفس لدى طلاب المرحلة الأساسية الدنيا من وجهة نظر عينة من أولياء الأمور. وقد أوصى الباحث بضرورة حث المعلمين على التعامل الإيجابي مع التلاميذ واستخدام أساليب التعزيز والترغيب خلال العملية التعليمية التعلمية التي تزيد مستوى الثقة بالنفس لدى التلاميذ.الکلمات المفتاحية: العقاب المدرسي، الثقة بالنفس، تلاميذ المرحلة الأساسية الدنيا.
