Abstract English

Childhood is the most important period in human life, and during this period the child begins to form his own thoughts and culture trying to know the society. Children's literature is considered as an effective tool to develop their imagination, way of thinking, and vocabulary. This research offers a semantic-contrastive study based on the analysis of the frequent semantic fields in children's literature in Italian and Arabic. The introduction sheds light on semantics, children's literature in Italy and Egypt and on the life of the authors. Firstly, it provides a general description of the characteristics of children's language and the child's basic vocabulary. Secondly, it offers a detailed analysis of the semantic fields frequently used in texts aimed at children, especially the third childhood. “Favole al telefono” of Gianni Rodari and “Ḥikāyāt al shuaʿūb” (The stories of the peoples) of Abd El Tawāb Youssef will be taken as an example. The conclusion contains the results achieved by the research.

الملخص العربي

L'infanzia è il periodo più importante nella vita dell'individuo, durante il quale il bambino inizia a formare il suo pensiero e la sua cultura cercando di conoscere la società. Il presente lavoro offre uno studio semantico- contrastivo che si basa sull’analisi dei campi semantici frequenti nella letteratura per l’infanzia tra l’italiano e l’arabo. Nell’introduzione si getta luce sulla semantica, la letteratura per l’infanzia in Italia e in Egitto e la vita degli autori. In primo luogo, si fornisce una descrizione generale delle caratteristiche del linguaggio infantile e il lessico elementare del bambino. In secondo luogo, si propone un’analisi dettagliata dei campi semantici frequentemente usati nei testi rivolti ai bambini, soprattutto la terza infanzia, attraverso uno studio semantico- lessicale approfondito dell’opera di Gianni Rodari “ Favole al telefono” e quella di Abd El Tawāb Youssef “Ḥikāyāt al shuaʿūb” (I racconti dei popoli). Infine, la conclusione racchiude i risultati raggiunti dalla ricerca.
