Figurative Expression and Implicit Figuration and their influences on Semantic Change This study aims at explaining expressions like: figurative expression, implicit figuration, semantic change, semantic development, reasons behind semantic change, forms of semantic change and at illustrating the influences of figurative expression and implicit figuration on the semantic change. Descriptive approach is adopted in this study. This approach studies the semantic change which happens to some words as a result of the use of figurative expressions and implicit figuration. Then, the historical approach is employed to trace the forms of semantic change. Key Words: allegory, imagery, figurative illustration, figurative expression, Implicit figuration, Semantic Change, Semantic development, Semantics, Reasons of Semantic Change, Forms of Semantic Change.

الملخص العربي

يهدف هذا البحث, إلى إيضاح مصطلحات: المجاز, ومجاز المجاز, والتغيُّر الدلاليّ, والتطوُّر الدلاليّ, وكذلك الكشف عن أسباب التغيُّر الدلاليّ, ومظاهره, وبيان أثر المجاز ومجاز المجاز في هذا التغيُّر. أمَّا المنهج المُتَّبَع في هذا البحث, فهو المنهج الوصفيّ, الذي يُعْنَىٰ بدراسة التغيُّر الدلاليّ الذي أصاب بعض الكلمات؛ بسبب المجاز ومجاز المجاز. يأتي بعده المنهج التاريخيّ, الذي يهتم بِتَتَبُّع أشكال التغيُّر الدلاليّ, الذي تتعرض له بعض الكلمات العربية, عَبْر حياتها اللغوية الطويلة.
