Abstract English

This study aims to investigate the foreign policy responses of Jordan towards Israeli invasion on Gaza Strip in 2008 on the official level. The daily Jordanian Newspaper is the main source for recording the responses. The study included an introduction to Gaza Strip, its historical relations with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the reasons that led to the conflict between Israel and the government of Gaza. The main focus of the study was the official Jordanian role represented by the royal palace, the ministries and the parliament, to support the Palestinian people. This study also showed how the Jordanian and Arab led to the launch of the United Nations Resolution 1860 that ordered the immediate cease of military operations and the beginning of political solution.

الملخص العربي

ترتكز الدراسة على البحث في الموقف الأردني تجاه العدوان الإسرائيلي على قطاع غزة عام 2008م على المستوى الرسمي، من خلال رصد وتتبع المعلومات الواردة في صحيفة الدستور الأردنية، إذ تناولت الدراسة التعريف بقطاع غزة، والعلاقة التاريخية التي تربط الهاشميين فيه، وأسباب العدوان الإسرائيلي عليه، مع التركيز على الدور الذي بذله الأردن على المستوى الرسمي (القصر، الحكومة، مجلس الأمة) لدعم الفلسطينيين في قطاع غزة وحثهم للوقوف والصمود أمام هذا العدوان، وبيان كيف ساهمت هذه الجهود في قيام الأردن بدور واضح مع الدول العربية الشقيقة باستصدار قرار مجلس الأمن رقم (1860) القاضي بالوقف الفوري للعمليات العسكرية، واتاحة المجال للتحركات الدبلوماسية لإحلال الأمن في المنطقة.
