Abstract English

The Discourse of Hatred in Sumer Shehadeh`s Novel Fields of Corn: A Reading based on the Theory of Cultural Criticism This paper adopts the critical approach to study the effect of the discourse of hatred on steering the events and the relationships between the social constituents.It also studies the effect of this discourse on controlling the present time and the future.The study depends mainly on the hypothesis that there is an integral relationship between the discourse of hatred and the violent behavior which appears during the Arab Spring events.The novel The Corn Fields by the Syrian writer Somer Shihadeh was written during these events.The writer chooses the rich background of the increase in violence during the Arab Spring as the main topic of discussion.This paper discusses the concept of hatred and its embodiment in a discourse that can turn words and feelings into very violent and hostile actions.The paper also discusses the outcome of the violent events, the perspectives, the people,and the revolution that is very much influenced by hatred.In addition, the paper characterizes the language constituents and the descriptions that the hatred discourse uses in order to guarantee the best possible effect on the receiver to adopt the violent behavior.The novel makes use of the critical approach to expose the deficiencies in people’s thoughts and behaviours.It is a novel of thoughts in the first stance;it creates a discourse out of all the important events. الملخص العربي

ملخّص خطاب الکراهيّة في رواية سومر شحادة"حقول الذرة" قراءة في ضوء نظريّة النقد الثقافيّ أ.د. زهير محمود عبيدات قسم اللغة العربيّة وآدابها-کليّة الآداب-الجامعة الهاشميّة-الأردن تدرس هذه المقاربة النقدية أثرَ خطاب الکراهيّة في توجيه الأحداث وعلاقات المکوّنات الاجتماعية فيما بينها والتحکّم في الواقع والمستقبل،وتنطلق من فرضيّة مؤدّاها أنّ ثمّة علاقة جوهريّة بين هذا الخطاب والسلوک العنيف الذي ظهر مع أحداث الربيع العربي.واختارت رواية"حقول الذرة"للکاتب السوري سومر شحادة التي کتبها أثناء أحداث الربيع البيئة الخصبة لتمدّد العنف.ووقفت الدراسة عند مفهوم الکراهية،وعند تجسّد الکراهيّة في خطاب قادر على تحوّله من کلام ومشاعر إلى أشکال عنيفة عدائيّة.ووقفت عند النتائج التي انتهت إليها الأحداث والأفکار والشخصيات والثورة التي تأثّرت بالکراهيّة،کما شخّصت مکوّنات اللغة والصفات التي يتوسّل بها الخطاب کي يضمن تأثيره في المتلقي في أن ينتقل إلى الفعل العنيف.وانتهت الدراسة إلى إثبات الفرضيّة التي انطلقت منها وهي أنّ علاقة الکراهيّة بالعنف علاقة السبب بالنتيجة الحتميّة،وبهذا نفسّر الآثار المأساوية التي انتهت إليها الثورة،فمصائر الشخصيات هي الجنون والتشرّد والرحيل والقتل والاغتصاب،ومصير الثورة هو الفشل الحتمي،ومصير المثقف هو العجز والانسحاب واللامبالاة،ومصير الوطن هو التدمير الذاتي،والرواية نقديّة تبيّنت مواطن الخلل والمرض على مستوى الأفکار والسلوک،وهي رواية أفکار في المقام الأول صاغت من الأحداث الکثيرة المهمّة خطاباً. کلمات مفاتيح(الکراهيّة،خطاب الکراهيّة،لغة خطاب الکراهيّة،رواية حقول الذرة،المسخ،التحوّل)
