Abstract English

This study focuses on the analysis of specialized medical terms in English and their French and Arabic equivalents in contexts translated by the World Health Organization (WHO), with a particular interest in the field of public health. The main objective is to describe and analyze the use of public health terminology within its specialized domain, both conceptually and linguistically. Furthermore, we analyze the linguistic phenomena observed in the examples, illustrating the richness and diversity of language evolution. The study corpus includes texts translated from English into French and Arabic, three official languages of the WHO. Specialized medical terms have been analyzed in depth, examining their usage in contextual passages to determine their meanings and specificity in each language. The results have shown that several linguistic phenomena characterize the existing terminology. The findings can be utilized to enhance the translation of these terms and to facilitate communication among healthcare professionals from different languages and cultures.

الملخص العربي

تركز هذه الدراسة اللغوية على تحليل المصطلحات الطبية في اللغة الإنجليزية، وترجماتها في اللغتين الفرنسية والعربية، باستخدام سياقات مترجمة من قبل منظمة الصحة العالمية، مع التركيز على مجال الصحة العامة. الهدف الرئيسي هو وصف وشرح استخدام المصطلحات في سياقاتها التخصصية على مستوى المفاهيم واللغة. تم تحليل الظواهر اللغوية المرصودة في الأمثلة والتي توضح غنى وتنوع تطور اللغة. شملت هذه الدراسة نصوصًا مترجمة بين اللغة الإنجليزية واللغتين الفرنسية والعربية، وهما لغتان رسميتان لمنظمة الصحة العالمية. تم تحليل المصطلحات الطبية المتخصصة بعمق من خلال دراسة كيفية استخدامها في السياق لتحديد معانيها وخصوصياتها في كل لغة. كما أظهرت النتائج وجود العديد من الظواهر اللغوية التي تميز المصطلحات المستخدمة، ويمكن الاستفادة من هذه النتائج في تطوير الترجمة وتيسير التواصل بين المختصين في مجال الرعاية الصحية من مختلف اللغات والثقافات.
