Abstract English

Based on the significant importance that color-related vocabulary holds in scientific terminology, this study proposes the creation of a trilingual digital dictionary in Arabic, English, and French. This dictionary includes scientific terms that utilize colors in the Arabic language, providing their equivalents in English and French, defining them, and determining their semantic domains. The aim is to benefit automated translation systems, in addition to highlighting the importance of standardizing scientific terminology and its role in economic development.Undoubtedly, the Arabic library lacks this type of specialized dictionary, which would enrich knowledge and contribute to the advancement of scientific research. This study will present examples from this dictionary to illustrate how the meaning of color-related vocabulary in scientific terms transitions from its linguistic sense to its terminological one. It will also define their semantic domains and address some challenges of translation and Arabization. Furthermore, the study will review the stages colors have undergone, starting from their physical existence in nature, their symbolic use, the multiplicity of pragmatic purposes in usage contexts, and finally their inclusion in scientific terminology.

الملخص العربي

من منطلق الأهمية الكبيرة التي شغلتها المفردات اللونية في المصطلحات العلمية، تقدم هذه الدراسة فكرة إنشاء معجم رقمي ثلاثي اللغة بين العربية والإنجليزية والفرنسية. يحتوي المعجم على المصطلحات العلمية القائمة على استخدام الألوان في اللغة العربية، مع ضبطها، ووضع مقابلاتها في اللغتين الإنجليزية والفرنسية، والتعريف بها، وتحديد مجالاتها الدلالية، بما يعود بالنفع على حركة الترجمة الآلية، فضلًا عما تشير إليه الدراسة من أهمية عملية توحيد المصطلحات العلمية، ودورها في تنمية الاقتصاد. ومما لا شك فيه أن المكتبة العربية تفتقر إلى هذا النوع من المعاجم المتخصصة الذي يثري المعرفة، ويسهم في سيرورة البحث العلمي. وسوف تقوم هذه الدراسة بتقديم بعض نماذج من هذا المعجم؛ لتوضِّح كيفية تحول دلالة المفردات اللونية في المصطلحات العلمية من معناها اللغوي إلى المعنى الاصطلاحي، وتحديد مجالاتها الدلالية، والإشارة إلى بعض مشكلات الترجمة والتعريب، مستعرضةً المراحل التي مرت بها الألوان، بدءًا من الوجود الفيزيائي لها في الطبيعة، ثم رمزية استخدامها، وتعدد المقاصد التداولية في سياقات الاستخدام، وصولًا إلى اشتمال المصطلحات العلمية على المفردات اللونية.
